Dispute Support
When something has gone wrong on a project, the facts have to be established before positions harden.
What this service covers
Construction disputes are expensive and time-consuming, but they can usually be shortened dramatically by getting the facts and the contract analysis right early. We provide dispute support to clients, contractors and solicitors — expert cost reports, expert delay reports, adjudication submissions, and pre-dispute advice on where a case is strong and where it is not.
Our expert reports are written to CPR Part 35 standard when litigation is in prospect and to the Scheme for Construction Contracts standard when adjudication is the route. The strongest cost and delay expert evidence has always started from a clean measurement and a clean programme — that grounding is where our quantity surveying and programme practice pays back into our dispute work.
Wherever possible we advise on early settlement, because settlements agreed on evidence are usually better outcomes than awards on the same evidence. Where a dispute must run, we prepare the case properly.
Typical deliverables
- Expert cost report (CPR Part 35 compliant)
- Expert delay report (SCL Protocol aligned)
- Adjudication referral or response
- Pre-dispute merits opinion
- Settlement negotiation support
