RICS homebuyer surveys and quantity surveying in West Sussex.

CSQS Ltd is a Worthing-based practice offering RICS Level 2 Homebuyer Surveys and Level 3 Building Surveys for people buying a home, and quantity surveying and construction management for people building one — across West Sussex, from Chichester to Crawley and Bognor Regis to East Grinstead. Carried out directly by senior, RICS-qualified people who write every report themselves.

Our focus

RICS home surveys and quantity surveying.

Two things we are known for across West Sussex: independent RICS home surveys for buyers, and quantity surveying that keeps construction projects on budget. Both are delivered directly by senior, RICS-qualified people.

RICS Level 2 Homebuyer Survey

The mid-level RICS home survey for conventional homes in reasonable condition — every element condition-rated, in plain English.

RICS Level 3 Building Survey

The most detailed RICS survey — for older, larger, altered or non-standard properties where you need the full picture before you buy.

Quantity Surveying & Cost Planning

Cost certainty from feasibility to final account — estimates, cost plans, procurement, valuations and final accounts.

What we do

RICS surveys and full-lifecycle construction consultancy.

Alongside our RICS home surveys, we provide the full range of construction consultancy services — from the very first order-of-cost feasibility through cost planning, procurement, contract administration, project management and site management to final account and dispute support. Everything below is delivered by senior people directly. Nothing is subcontracted out to a name you have never met.

RICS Level 2 Homebuyer Survey

The mid-level RICS home survey for conventional houses and flats in reasonable condition, carried out to the RICS Home Survey Standard.

RICS Level 3 Building Survey

The most detailed RICS home survey, for older, larger, altered, listed or non-standard properties — a full analysis of construction and condition.

How we work

Small on purpose. Highly tech-enabled. Written by hand.

Small practice, senior people

We've stayed small deliberately. It means the person you meet at the first call is the person who writes the cost plan, chairs the progress meetings and signs the final certificate. No handover to junior staff, no anonymous team.

Highly tech-enabled

We build our own internal tooling to speed up measurement, cost benchmarking, programme analysis and document production. That efficiency shows up in our turnaround times and in our fees. It never replaces professional judgement — it supports it.

Every document written by us

Cost plans, contract administration correspondence, expert reports, programme analyses — every deliverable is written by the person who did the work. No boilerplate, no offshoring, no generic templates dressed up in a client logo.

Local, and it matters

West Sussex is our home. Coastal exposure at Worthing, heritage constraints at Chichester and Arundel, Gatwick-side supply chain at Crawley, weald clays at Horsham — the county is heterogeneous, and cost planning has to reflect that. Generic UK-average rates hide too much.

Areas we cover

Working across West Sussex.

Our office is in Worthing but our work spans the whole of West Sussex — the coastal towns from Bognor Regis through Littlehampton and Shoreham-by-Sea, the market towns of Chichester and Horsham, the commercial centre at Crawley, and the Mid Sussex towns of Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead.

The practice

Founded 2020 in Worthing.

CSQS Ltd was founded in 2020 to provide the kind of construction management practice we wanted to work with as clients — small enough to reply to your email directly, senior enough to be worth contacting, and disciplined enough that documents get written when they should.

The practice covers the full construction consultancy spectrum — feasibility, cost planning, project management, contract administration, procurement, employer's agent, principal designer, site management, retrofit, party wall and dispute support. Every service is delivered directly by senior staff.

We work across West Sussex from our Marine Crescent office in Worthing, with active projects throughout the county.

Our approach in one line

"Communication is direct. No preamble, no throat-clearing, no generic language. We write what we know — and we're always happy to talk it through."
